Dr. Subhasish Deb is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist based in Kolkata and currently associated with Manipal Hospitals, Mukundapur. He specialises in the management of heart attacks, chest pain, coronary artery disease, and complex cardiac conditions using advanced, minimally invasive techniques.
He is recognised for his expertise in complex coronary interventions, including left main disease, bifurcation lesions, and chronic total occlusions. With clinical experience of over 5,000 coronary angiograms and more than 500 primary percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), predominantly via the radial approach, he combines technical precision with a strong focus on patient safety and outcomes.
Dr. Deb is proficient in advanced plaque-modification techniques such as intravascular lithotripsy (IVL), rotational atherectomy, and orbital atherectomy for heavily calcified coronary arteries. His expertise also extends to cardiac device therapies including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT-D), and conduction system pacing such as left bundle branch pacing. In addition, he performs structural heart interventions including ASD, VSD, and PDA device closures.
Earlier in his career, he was part of the Heart Transplant Program team at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, contributing to the care of patients with advanced heart failure.
His approach is firmly evidence-based, ensuring that procedures are recommended only when truly necessary while maintaining timely intervention in critical situations. Patients value his ability to explain complex heart conditions in clear, simple terms and guide them confidently through every step of treatment.
Dr. Deb is actively involved in academic cardiology and medical education. He has previously taught MBBS students and is currently involved in training DrNB Cardiology trainees at Manipal Hospitals, contributing to the development of future cardiologists.
He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, reflecting his commitment to research and evidence-based clinical practice. For a complete list of his research work, please visit the Research & Publications section.
